Dragon Sword Awakening How long to beat? 4K Game Walkthrough

The Korean developer Hound 13 released Dragon Sword Awakening for PC on July 23, 2026. Completing the main story and side quests takes an average of 38 hours!

So, what is Dragon Sword Awakening? Originally designed as a live-service game full of surprises, it was first known simply as Dragon Sword. Published by Webzen, it launched in Korea in January for both mobile and PC. However, due to an ongoing legal battle that was highly visible to the public, developer Hound 13 cut ties with Webzen, redesigned the game as a traditional RPG, and renamed it Dragon Sword Awakening. While the legal dispute continues, nothing seems to prevent Hound 13 from publishing the game independently. For me, Dragon Sword Awakening appeared completely out of nowhere.

I first noticed it because of the ongoing legal battle, but the shift in focus caught my attention. It’s no secret that I don’t enjoy games built around in-game surprises, but the transformation of a surprise-driven game into a traditional RPG experience is perfectly acceptable to me—especially since I loved Octopath Traveler Zero and expect to enjoy titles like Blue Reflection, Quartet, and Final Fantasy Resonance.

The game isn’t perfect, but at a fair price, it’s worth trying.
